Somali Women Voices (SWV) was established in 2017 to create space for women in Somalia to be
heard. Women are essential to progress in their communities. Somalia cannot move forward without
the full participation of women.
Somali Women Voices is a grassroots women-led community organization whose aim is to respond to
social development-related issues in Somalia.
The Somali Women Voices engages women in development within their communities. This has
created a platform to address gender-based violence, issues that promote poor Health among women, and vulnerability among marginalized members of society. Somali Women Voices is to promote
the active participation of women in leadership and girl child education and empowerment.
